The Trap Bar is a hexagonal barbell built for deadlifts, with the lifter standing inside the frame rather than behind a straight bar. That center-of-mass position keeps the load in line with the body, reducing shear on the lower back and letting lifters train the deadlift pattern with heavier, safer loading. It also carries over to farmer's carries, shrugs, and jumps.
